Jon C. Miller is the Republican candidate for Porter County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Jon currently serves as the Porter County Recorder, a position he has held since January of 2011.
Thirty-five years ago he began his career with the Porter County Sheriff’s Department. From 1995-2010 he served the Sheriff and Porter County Communications 911 Departments as the Computer Network Administrator for both agencies. |

Jon has been a solution provider throughout his career, while also creating valuable relationships with local offices and others throughout Indiana. He has dedicated his career to public service. Jon and his wife Joyce (Fike) Miller live in Chesterton and have been married 26 years. They have two wonderful children, Brian, 23, and Katie, 20.
"I possess the necessary administrative skills to serve as County Clerk. The Recorder’s office and the Clerk’s office are very similar in their responsibilities of maintaining vital records for the public and the court system. They both also serve as members of the Porter County Commission on Public Records." "My experience working several election polls along with being a local candidate has provided me hands-on experience and appreciation of the fundamental importance of the election process." Jon served four years on the Executive Board of the Indiana Recorders Association, including one year as President. In 2017, he was honored with the Outstanding Service Award from the Indiana Recorders Association, along with receiving the Recorder of the Year Award from the Association of Indiana Counties.
