Candidate for County Council-at-Large Andy Bozak has served on the Porter County Council previously and is seeking election to the At-large position. Andy also previously holds the position of President for the County Council Board.

About Andy
Past Porter County Council President Andy Bozak has announced his candidacy for the Porter County Council 2024 election, having filed his paperwork earlier this year. Bozak previously served on the Porter County Council and the Burns Harbor Town Council after running an extremely energetic campaign focused on transparency and dialog. Bozak is again making this a part of his campaign, saying “We already have a lot of great things going on in our County but with so much on the line, we can't risk going backwards. " Bozak was part of the team that approved a 50 million dollar investment in Porter County, helping to properly setup the Porter County Foundation and making sure we had a balanced and fair budget for the County. Additionally, he has pushed for better communication throughout our County including not only internal communications, but communication with the public. As an elected official, my job is to serve you and the people who I am entrusted to represent. Respect There is a lot of showboating and yelling in politics. The Duneland community deserves a voice on the County Council who is not only heard, but respected. Lying, silly antics, and storming out of public meetings when you’re upset won’t accomplish anything and only make government worse. Future I’m one of the candidates committed to protecting the hospital money in the county foundation. Although we could spend it on pet projects for the short term, it’s more important that we protect the fund for future generations. This financial asset is the greatest gift we can pass down to our children when it’s their turn to take the reins of county government. Investing in Efficient Government As a fiscal conservative, you can expect me to do everything in my power to keep taxes low, but we also have to maintain a high quality of service. That’s where it becomes important to maintain our infrastructure and invest in new technologies when possible to ensure county government is running as efficiently as possible. A dollar spent today will save two dollars spent tomorrow. Family Families are what makes Porter County great! This is one of the best places in the country to grow up and raise a family of your own. That's why I chose to stay here after college and raise my four young children in Duneland schools. I want to keep Porter County a special place for them; which is why I've invested so much time with them in our community. I've been a baseball coach, Little League Treasurer, Knights of Columbus youth coordinator, town councilman, and county councilman as a parent and my kids have been with me every step of the way. They've learned about the values of hard work, selflessness, integrity, and community service; and not just from me, but from everyone in our community. If you want to get more involved in your community, do it! Government isn't why Porter County is great, it's people like you and your family that do it. Andy Bozak and his wife, Roseann Bozak are raising 4 incredible children in the town of Burns Harbor. Andy also serves as a Youth Activities Coordinator for the local Knights of Columbus, manages his son’s baseball team, and organizes an impressive dancing light show for charity at Christmas. Past donations from his light show have been used to help support local charities like The Caring Place, a local shelter for women and children and a cause that Mr. Bozak strongly believes in supporting.
"My son Ayden and I have a campaign golf cart that we use for canvassing neighborhoods. It's an absolute blast to be able to do this with him. There are so many amazing, hardworking, and good people in our community, and it's extremely rewarding for us to have the opportunity to do this together. He has learned a lot through the campaigns we have run, but one of the major things he has learned is to and listen to people and propose action when possible."
