The Porter County Republican Party held their Reorganization Day on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the Old Town Banquet Center in Valparaiso, Indiana. With a turnout of nearly 80% of the precinct board members, the party leadership was welcomed in for 2 of its incumbents and 2 new members to the executive board. Returning to lead the team is Michael Simpson, Chairman and Victoria Gresham, Vice Chair; the newest members are Robyn Walsworth, Secretary and Michelle Bolinger, Treasurer. This will be Michael and Victoria's third term with Robyn and Michelle beginning their first terms in office.

Porter County Republican Party Elects New Party Officials

The Porter County Republican Party held a caucus on Saturday, March 4, 2017 to elect the new party leadership team that will each serve a four year term. Re-elected to their respective positions are Michael Simpson, County Chairman (Center-R) and Victoria Gresham, Vice Chair (Center-Left); Krista Tracy, Treasurer (Right) formerly served as party secretary and will take on a new role with the leadership team. Bryan Waisanen, Secretary (Left) will join the team as the newest member. The leadership team is a strong representation of the four county districts, which include the Valparaiso/Center Township District, Portage Township District, the Duneland District and the South County District.

The Porter County Republican Party is proud to announce the newly elected Party Officers and the District Committees for the 2017-2021 term. The GOP Central Committee comprises the four districts of Porter County along with its officeholders. We are pleased to have some new team members on board!

Moving forward, we will continue to focus on the following:

1) Party growth and participation within the political and electoral process

2) Open communication lines with members, elected officials, supporters and community

3) To elect more Republicans into office at all levels of government

Indiana Senate Internship Program Accepting Applications for 2015

Are you interested in state government? Here's your chance to see it up close. This is a great opportunity for recent and current college undergraduates as well as graduate students to become engaged in our state government process. The Indiana Senate Republican Caucus offers paid, spring-semester internships. The Intern Program seeks to fill the following six positions: Legislative, Information Technology, Legal, Press Secretary, Policy, and Visual Communications. Successful applicants can join the IN Senate team and become a valued member with one of the finest employers around! The Indiana Senate was rated as the Employer of the Year for 2014 by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce’s Indiana INTERNnet program. Deadline to apply is October 31, 2015. Good luck!

Intern Program Details:
The Indiana State Senate internship is a full-time, paid position at the Indiana Statehouse during the spring semester. The program begins with a mandatory orientation in late December and concludes at the end of the legislative session, either in March or April. Interns work Monday through Friday with the minimum work day of 8:30 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. Legislative interns are paired with one or two state senators and work directly with the legislative assistants. Communications interns work with press secretaries, policy analysts or multi-media specialists in the Senate Communications Office.

Early Voting Starts October 7th

ABSENTEE VOTING

The first day a voter may vote an absentee-in-person at the county clerks office for the 2014 General Election is October 7th. The deadline for absentee-by-mail applications to be received for the 2014 General Election is October 27, 2014. 

General Election Day is NOVEMBER 4, 2014.

GENERAL INFORMATION ON ABSENTEE BALLOTS

All registered voters in Indiana are eligible to vote absentee-in-person at the county election board office beginning 28 days before Election Day.

In order to vote absentee-by-mail, one of the following must apply:

*  You have a specific, reasonable expectation that you will be absent from the county on Election Day during the entire 12 hours that the polls are open (6 am until 6 pm).
*  You have a disability.
*  You are at least 65 years of age.
*  You will have official election duties outside of your voting precinct.
*  You are scheduled to work at your regular place of employment during the entire 12 hours that the polls are open.
*  You will be confined due to illness or injury or you will be caring for an individual confined due to illness or injury during the entire 12 hours that the polls are open.
*  You are prevented from voting because of a religious discipline or religious holiday during the entire 12 hours that the polls are open.
*  You are a participant in the state's address confidentiality program.
*  You are a member of the military or a public safety officer

Note:Voters voting absentee-by-mail are NOT required to show photo ID.In order to vote absentee-by-traveling board, one of the following must apply:

*  The voter expects to be confined, due to illness or injury, or the voter expects to be caring for a confined person at a private residence, on Election Day.
*  The voter is a voter with disabilities and believes their polling place is not accessible to them.
*  The voter is physically unable to complete the ballot and sign the affidavit on their own.
*  The ballot will be delivered to you by a bi-partisan absentee voter board who will be able to assist you with your ballot.
*  Voters voting by traveling board are NOT required to show photo ID.
